The Right Care Right Here programme is committed to improving the health and the quality of health and social care services provided to local people.
In simple terms, we have a clear vision to improve the choice you have on where to go for healthcare in your local community, and we are the driving force behind delivering upgraded GP surgeries, brand new health centres and greater access to local health services for you, the patient.
We work closely with managers, clinicians and patients to discuss how best to utilise the NHS resources. Over the past 10 years we have also been responsible for implementing the agreed improvements such as upgrading outdated buildings like Yew Tree Healthy Living Centre, Walsall, and steering the building of new health centres such as the Summerfield GP and Urgent Care Centre in Winson Green and The Lyng Centre for Health and Social Care in West Bromwich.
The Right Care Right Here programme is about bringing excellent health and social care services close to home to deliver 21st century healthcare right on the doorstep of Sandwell and the West Birmingham areas. This reduces the need for patients to go to hospital for their appointments, delivering the same treatment in health centres in their local community.
In 2006/7 we asked local people what they wanted from the NHS, and they told us that they wanted more convenient and local services that would give them faster access to:
- Better health and social care facilities
- To be treated with dignity and respect
- Services with good transport links and car parking facilities
- Clean facilities that reduced hygiene problems and hospital acquired infections
You are at the heart of everything we do. It’s your healthcare we have in mind when we look to use the NHS resources wisely. We aim to make your journey shorter, your choices greater, and the ultimate health care you receive more suited to your needs.
